Michigan is located in the heart of the Great Lakes region of America and is comprised of two major peninsulas. In winter the water turns to snow and ice and great cross-country skiing can be found in both peninsulas.

Cherries, blueberries, peaches, apples, and wine draw large numbers to events like the Tulip Time Festival and the National Cherry Festival. The state capital Detroit includes leading attractions, particularly The Henry Ford, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the Detroit Zoo.
