Kentucky is a state located in the East Central region of the United States of America. It is affectionately known as the "Bluegrass State" because of the native bluegrass that is common in so many of its pastures. The extremely fertile soil here has enabled Kentucky to breed high-quality livestock, especially thoroughbred racing horses. It has the highest per capita number of deer and turkey in America and an expansive park system which includes national and historical parks, forests and Wildlife Management Areas.
Attractions include horse racing, bourbon distilleries, bluegrass music, college basketball and the world's longest cave system, Mammoth Cave National Park. The beautiful lakes have much to offer tourists with way of fishing, site seeing and water sports.
