Moving - House, Apartment, or Condo
Moving is stressful enough, but we have moving plans designed to save you money and avoid the ripp-offs by movers, whose staff takes gtheir sweet time, costing you well above what you should be paying. We have seen moves for a small house cost over $2,000, at a time when the customers being moved were going through a foreclosure and having to downsize. A 3 bedroom house should never cost $2,000 to move.
Our movers are accepting fixed price moving for those customers who are willing to be prepared for the move, with all belongings, except furniture, packed and ready to go.
Our movers, with options below, will move you up to 20 miles from your current location. You will be charged extra for further distance.
Our movers will disassemble, as needed, and wrap your furniture, and place it in the mvoing truck. They will also carry up to 30-100 boxes, based on one of our plans below. If you are a pack rat and your residence is loaded to capacity and it takes 2-3 hours over the estimated time, the movers can charge extra. Our prices are based on an average residence beng moved. If you have too much stuff, it may pay to have our movers move the big stuff (furniture, mowers, gas grill, bicycles, gym equipment, etc.) and you rent a small truck and move your boxes, yourself.
Our movers will use a truck, up to 26 feet long. If your items do not fit into that truck, you will have to order additional hours from your mover or an additional truck. They can help you with that, or they can leave your small stuff behind and you move those items, yourself, in a rental truck. If you have moved before, in the last 3 years, you should have an idea of how much stuff you have.
WetCrow.com will do everything possible to work with our movers to make your move go as smooth as possible, but we all have to be reasonable here. Use your phone camera to take videos, if you see our moving crews fighting, taking extensive breaks, damaging your property, smoking in your residence, drinking alcohol, etc. Although, it is extremely rare, we have a zero tolerance for that behavior and you should too.
Tipping is at your option, but we always recommend at least $50. How would you feel if you were a waiter in a restaurent and a 10 person table left you zero tip? We recommend you carry the tip money in cash and give it to the moving crew upon all items moved into your destination address or storage.
You will have the opportunity to rate your movers after the move is complete, so they have a great incentive to do a great job, or they will no longer get work from our platform. We want you to have a smmoth move.
Our movers will call you to let you know they are on their way, before they arrive, so you can be prepared. You don't want to be caught in your underwear when they arrive.
You will need to move your pets yourself on the day of your move. We recommend you put them in a kennel for the day of your move, so they do not get in the way. If you have pets at the scene, our service providers will take pictures and reserve the right to charge you extra for the delay the pets may cause them. Afterall, we want your pets to be safe, as well. If you have young children, we recommend you leave them with a family member or babysitter, during your move. You do not your children to be hurt if one of our moving crew members slips and a large piece of furniture falls on yhour child. Protect your children and keep them safe, as best as you can. It is best to have children and pets removed from your residence, the night before, so you can focus on your move. Your stress will go down and your move will go smoother.
Please ask you apartment manager, condo association manager, subdivision association manager, or town hall, if you need a special permit, especially for parking of moving truck, so moving truck driver does not get parking fine ticket. You are ultimately responsible for any charges, plus lost wages, if driver goes to court. That is standard with all movers, especially in inner cities, where traffic is a problem.
Moving staff is required to take a 15 minute paid break, every 2 hours, plus a 45 unpaid lunch break if move will run over 5 hours, or tthrough lunch or dinner time. Please allow one half hour to one hour travel time, lunch or dinner times in your expected time it will take for your move. If traffic is bad, it can take longer for movers to arrive at moving destination to begin unloading your belongings.
We do not move motorcycles, motorised bikes or scooters, and reserve the right to reject gas grills and ride on mowing equipment. Propane gas cannot be loaded on to moving trucks. If mowers allowed, they must be drained of all gasoline. You do not want gasoline to ignite inside the moving truck, with all your belongings inside, do you?
All our plans include moving washer and dyer. Our plans do not incude the hooking up of washer and dryer. Many movers will do that for free, if their time has not run out. They may charge you an extra $25-$40 for hooking up your washer and dryer. They may not be able to hook up your dryer, if you do not have a dryer vent in good condition.
Generally, movers do not move appliances, such as stove, refrigerator, and definately not, built-in appliances, such as attached microwaves, dishwasher, garbage disposals, ice machines, etc.
Movers will not remove curtains from rods and will not remove curtain rods or blinds. They will also not install curtain rods, curtains, blinds, or any window coverings at destination. We recommend you hire one of our handyman services for those items or leave window coverings behind at old location, since most times, they are not usable in your new residence.
We do not offer storage to residence service, due to issues with prior movers. Likewise, if we move your belongings to storage, we cannot assume liability for damage to your belongings because movers cannot leave moving blankets behind, plus they have to squeeze furniture in tight, or stack it, causing possibilities of damage. Most movers require to to sign a damage waiver on such moves.
All damages are the liability of the movers. We will supply you with their contact informatio, should a claim be needed. Claims need to be submitted to WetCrow.com within 24 hours of completion of your move. We will assist you in the process. We do remove movers from our platform that have more than 3 claims a year. We want your move to go as smooth as possible.
